Released in 1998, Steven Soderbergh’s steamy crime thriller Out of Sight was a box office bomb that quickly emerged as a cult classic. It practically defined George Clooney’s movie star persona after his disastrous turn in Batman & Robin, while also giving Jennifer Lopez the opportunity to prove her worth as a comedy and action star.

In the aftermath of Hustlers-gate, it seemed like a golden opportunity to celebrate the role and remind ourselves that, despite what some critics may imply, J.Lo has always been excellent value as a movie star. Unfortunately, things didn’t go entirely to plan…
