La La Land is the latest film from director Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) and stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as a struggling actress and a frustrated jazz musician who find a connection under the Los Angeles moonlight.

The film picked up seven gongs at the 2017 Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Original Song. The supporting cast includes John Legend, J K Simmons and Rosemarie DeWitt.

In this podcast, we tackle several burning questions about the movie, including…

* Is Ryan Gosling’s character a terrible elitist?
* Where did all the songs go during the second act of the movie?
* Why is John Legend the only character who can sing?
* Should Beyonce have been in this movie?

What the hell are we talking about? There’s only one way to find out…
